The ebook readers are here!

November 20, 2010

The Dwight Foster Public Library now has 3 different ebook readers available to check out from the library. We own an Amazon Kindle, a Barnes & Noble Nook and a Sony Reader. All 3 of these devices have a collection of current and classic titles. These readers can be checked out by any patron age 18 and over who has no fines or overdue items on their library account.

A current list of titles loaded on these devices is available at the circulation desk and on the library Web site. You can also view the borrowing policy on that page.

Libraries are also working to provide ebooks to ebook reader owners. Through participation in a statewide buying consortium, the Dwight Foster library can provide access to a collection of approximately 1000 ebook titles that can be checked out from the library through a subscription to Overdrive. If you own an ebook reader take a look at what is available. You will need your library card number to check out the ebooks for download to your reader, as well as knowing you are a member of the Mid-Wisconsin Library System.

At this time it is not possible to use these ebooks with a Kindle but many other ebook readers, like the Nook and Sony Reader, will be able to use library ebooks. If you would like additional information contact us
